Reborn

Reborn was my first experience using Unity. It was the first game I developed in a group three people, for the end of the semester. Below, I explain the project in more detail and show some videos of the game. At the end, I provide a download link if you want to try it out.

#1 About The Game

Story Summary

Reborn takes place after a nuclear war that destroyed the world, leaving survivors to live in a radioactive environment among ruins, adopting a lifestyle reminiscent of ancient Greece, dwelling in temples. In this world, they must sustain themselves by hunting giant insects and other sources while simultaneously fighting against them for survival. The story of Reborn follows the daily life of the community leader.

Objectives

  • Detailed storytelling outlined in a separate document

  • Implementation of motion capture animations

  • Inclusion of a cutscene

  • Playable video game

  • Introduction of one of our characters in the game

  • 3D assets created by us with a defined aesthetic.

My Contribution

As mentioned earlier, the game was developed by a team of 3 members. In this project, I played a significant role, responsible for creating some of the 3D models, managing tasks in the game engine such as programming, importing motion capture animations for the character, importing 3D models and their textures, and implementing the cutscene. For the Unity part, I watched some tutorials, as it was my first time using Unity.

Final Reflection / Download Link

This was a project where I learned a lot. In a short time, I managed to grasp the basics of Unity, and as a team, we developed a playable game, though simple and incomplete, with several errors ranging from organization to code issues. However, the game managed to meet the required criteria, and it gave us experience for future projects.
